Your cyanotype piece is permanently dyed. It is wearable art that can be washed and worn like typical clothing pieces. Although it needs a bit more love and care than some garments. I recommend hand washing your cyanotype clothing to help maintain it’s color. If you use a laundry machine, turn your item inside out and use only phosphate free detergent. Over washing or repeated and extended sun exposure may cause your piece to fade. If fading occurs, you can try dunking your piece in a diluted bath of water and hydrogen peroxide to restore the colors. Just like your favorite pair of jeans, light fading and some color changes are normal. I encourage you to embrace the changes of your piece through it’s lifespan.
